Fairness, quality and respectful conduct on Motomap

Motomap is a community platform by motorcyclists for motorcyclists. These terms of use are intended to ensure a fair, safe and helpful exchange.

1. Purpose of Motomap

Motomap is intended for sharing knowledge about roads, tours, spots and group rides. All content should help other users make better, safer or more interesting decisions.

2. Fairness & respectful conduct

Respectful interaction is a basic requirement for using Motomap.

  • Posts, comments and ratings should be factual, respectful and constructive.
  • Criticism is explicitly allowed but must be expressed fairly.
  • Personal attacks, provocations, insults or escalation are not permitted.
  • Discussions should serve the exchange of experiences, not self-promotion or the devaluation of others.

3. Content must benefit the community

All content on Motomap should provide value to the community.

This includes in particular:
  • Helpful descriptions of spots and tours
  • Objective ratings with understandable reasoning
  • Information about road quality, special features or risks
  • Constructive feedback on rides
Not welcome are:
  • Intentionally misleading content
  • Content-free posts (spam, meaningless one-liners)
  • Posts intended solely to provoke or polarize

4. Prohibited content

The following content is prohibited on Motomap:

  • Insults, hate speech, discrimination or bullying
  • Glorification of violence or encouragement of dangerous behavior
  • Illegal content or instructions for illegal activities
  • Advertising, spam or commercial content without explicit labeling or approval
  • Publishing personal data of third parties without their consent

5. Privacy & data protection

  • The privacy of other users must be respected.
  • Personal data (e.g. addresses, phone numbers, license plates) must not be published without consent.
  • Other users' privacy settings (e.g. visibility of rides or participation) are binding and must not be circumvented.

6. Responsibility for content

Each user is responsible for the content they create.

  • Content should be created to the best of one's knowledge and belief.
  • Motomap assumes no responsibility for the accuracy, completeness or timeliness of user-generated content.
  • Content always reflects the opinion of the respective user, not that of Motomap.

7. Moderation & enforcement

Motomap reserves the right to moderate content. This serves to protect the community and maintain content quality.

  • Hide or remove content that violates these terms of use
  • Restrict features or accounts in cases of repeated or serious violations
  • Permanent suspension for severe misconduct

8. Changes to the terms of use

These terms of use may be modified or extended as the project evolves or legal requirements change. Significant changes may require renewed consent.

By registering, you agree to these terms of use and undertake to comply with them.
